As the economy improves the transport industry is gathering pace. Record numbers of vehicles are being sold on the high street following several years of recession. With so many new vehicles in development demand for Paragon’s RIM expertise is at an all-time high.

Reaction injection moulding (RIM) involves the injection of liquid polyurethane systems into a mould. The components then polymerize within the mould to form the part. RIM is used to manufacture production parts using silicone, model board or resin tools and is ideal for volumes in the range of 50 – 300 parts. Glass fibre and mineral fillers can be added to improved stiffness and mechanical strength where required. Typical examples include steering wheels, dashboards, military and aerospace applications, computer enclosures and medical equipment.
