CNC Machine Operator/Programmer

Competitive salary commensurate with experience

Paragon Rapid Technologies is a market leading innovation services company providing state-state-of-the-art prototyping and LVM solutions to OEMs, Tier 1 manufacturers, design and engineering teams, modelling and precision engineering firms.

We have an impressive portfolio of blue chip clients across a broad range of sectors, including automotive and transport, aerospace and defence, architecture, energy and exploration, medical, consumer products and entertainment.

Thanks to an extremely successful 2018 where we have seen significant growth in requirements from our engineering capability, we are now looking for a 5 axis CNC machine operator/programmer to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set and operate Hurco, Haas and CMS CNC machining centres

  • Cam programming using Delcam/Autodesk PowerMill

  • Operate manual mills and lathes when required

  • Machining of jigs and fixtures

  • Machining of mould tools in Modelboard and Aluminium (Not injection tools)

  • Machining components in a wide range of materials

  • Design experience preferred but not essential

  • Flexible working hours to meet customer demands

Skills and Experience

  • An ability to self-manage projects, and to work on own initiative and without close supervision

  • Planning and prioritising multiple work loads

  • An ability and commitment to complete projects on specified dates and to strict deadlines

  • Three years minimum Cam programming

  • Experience of Hurco, Haas & CMS machines is an advantage but not essential

  • Experience of 5 axis programming and machining 

  • Tool making experience is an advantage but not essential

  • Design experience preferred but not essential

  • Highly confident working in a fast-paced engineering environment

  • Good time management

  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and 5S
