Stereolithography (SLA) may be the grandfather of AM technologies, but with its large print beds, reputation for accuracy, high levels of detail, promise of quality and compared with many processes, speed, it is still a driving force in additive manufacturing.
Prototyping for functionality usually means a high cost in the finishing department. Somos® EvoLVe 128 has been specifically designed with functionality testing in mind. Finished parts have a look and feel almost indistinguishable from finished traditional thermoplastics, delivered with a promise of excellent detail resolution and a reduction in post-production processing time of up to 50% against other SLA resins with similar durability and thermostability.
The white EvoLVe 128 also possesses a small amount of flex and has a good impact strength. In fact, EvoLVe 128 is such a good, robust material, and allows such a high level of detail, that it can be used as an end material for various low volume production parts. It has demonstrated versatility in the aerospace, automotive, medical and consumer products sectors, and is pretty much perfect for architectural models and demo models.
