Specialist Painted Finishes
At Paragon we always favour pigmentation of castings over applying paint. However certain projects require a specific painted finish. This could include metallic effects or painted production finishes but more recently we have supplied prototype and low volume production components with NEXTEL® and ALEXIT® finishes.
These paints are used regularly in the production of industrial and medical products. NEXTEL® has a soft Suede feel, but the main advantage is that it is a very durable, abrasion and chemical resistant paint ideal for areas of regular user contact. ALEXIT® is another soft feel coating but with active antimicrobial characteristics. The paint has a silver additive which kills bacteria, offering an added layer of protection against microbial contamination. This paint is intended for use in hygiene-sensitive areas such as medical and food handling equipment.
