Motorcycle Lights, 2005

Product:
Front and Rear Lamp units for a proposed retro style motorcycle.

Client Brief:
Fully representative, working samples were required for promotion and for exhibition purposes.

Action:
SL models and silicone tools were produced to allow the production of parts in Polyurethane. Both the Front and Rear units  included a transparent lens and mirrored reflector. These were produced as vacuum castings with a highly polished surface finish. The  reflectors were given a "chrome effect" vacuum metalized finish to represent production parts. With a full understanding of the project requirements, we identified that we would not be able to achieve the required finish on the Front Bezel using vacuum metalizing so a metal incapsulation process was inplemented to coat the vacuum casting with copper and subsequently allow the application of a true chrome plated finish.

Result:
High quality prototype parts were delivered on time, demonstrating all of the qualities of production components.
