Man Over Board Safety Device, 2004

Product:
An electronic Safety Device to be used at sea, to alert the crew of a man over board and also to locate him via GPS. Developed by Jab Design for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

Client Brief:
Initial sample requirement for product evaluation and then further models required for Development, Testing and Marketing purposes.

Action:
The product consists of a docking/control station and four pendants per unit. Final prototypes were produced as vacuum castings incorporating overmoulded brass inserts and electrical contacts and an elastomer grip including a water tight activation button.

Result:
The project was successfully completed within customer deadlines. Samples were used to develop the product further through rigorous testing and field trials.
